Here's more than you'll ever want to know about the New Oxford High School Chess Team.

The loyal persons of the New Oxford Chess Team include Cory Smith, Brian Costella Jr., Jeremy Graham, Jaclyn Eck, Jeremy Miller, Troy Staub, Zachary DeGroft, Sara Schaeffer, and Jack Alexander.  We did very well in the 2005 season going 8-2 and finished second in the northern portion of the Mason-Dixon Chess League out of six schools.  More impressively the team scored 15.5 (won 15.5/20) and placed second at the Pennsylvania State Scholastic Championships in the Under 1000 section out of 23 other school competing.  The members of this team include: (Back from left to right) Brian Costella Jr., Sara Schaeffer, Andrew Brinkerhoff, Jeremy Graham (not shown), Jack Alexander (not shown), (Front from left to right, these men scored the 15.5 points), Jeremy Miller, Troy Staub, Cory Smith, and Zachary DeGroft.

Congratulations to the Bermudian Springs Chess Team on their Mason-Dixon Chess League Championship
 
Congratulations to the Bermudian Springs Chess Team for their 2.5-2.5 tiebreak victory over James Wood of Viriginia.  Unfortunately I only know four of the members names and they are, John Fentiman, Cory Ruck, Angie Nagy, and Zackary Hoffman.  The New Oxford Chess Team was practically their only competition and we lost to Bermudian in both of our meetings.  They finish their season 10-0-1, although through tiebreak they won the drawn match.  New Oxford finished the season 8-2 and crushed every team except for the dominant Bermudian team.
